Hello!   👋

My name is Victoria; I am a mature trans woman 🏳️‍⚧️ living in Vancouver - the ancestral, stolen and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples: the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

I received my Ph.D. in 2000 from the University of Victoria (British Columbia) with a specialization in molecular genetics, followed by a prolonged period of molecular biology research, consulting, and leadership (past President, Genetics and Environmental Mutagenesis Society, Durham, NC).

I am interested in information and relationships among data, and their applicability across multiple domains - which I apply in my fundamental role as a universal human and social and environmental rights activist-advocate. My primary focus is my independent research into wealth, power, and influence - through a democratic socialist lens.

Core issues include massive inequality, social conservatism, democratic backsliding, discrimination in all it's forms, unsustainable practices, and existential threats (notably artificial superintelligence) - and solutions to those issues ( democratic socialism, universal human rights, environmental rights, sustainable practices, evidence-based truth networks).

I seek to expand my network, particularly among socialist advocate-activists, to advance this work.

I argue strongly that the issues that disproportionately affect our 2SLGBTQIA+ community (especially our older adults) affects all Canadians. Broad community-building and solidarity is foundational to our work.

In my volunteer work I am a founding co-Chair of Senior Pride Network Canada / Réseau de la Fierté des personnes aînées du Canada (SPNC/RFAC), at which I also chair the Community Advocacy, Research, and Engagement (CARE) Committee. SPNC/RFAC seeks to unite, advocate for, and empower older, senior, and elder 2SLGBTQI+ people across Canada.
