The Daily Wire is one of America’s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.

Conceived by Ben Shapiro and Jeremy Boreing after they got fired from their last company — actually, Shapiro quit after Boreing got fired — The Daily Wire was meant to be something unique in the right-of-center media landscape — a truly self-funding business with an emphasis on distribution and marketing.

In partnership with Caleb Robinson, with whom Boreing had been trying to gin up a movie company — Boreing is always trying to gin up a movie company — the team launched The Daily Wire in 2015 with an initial investment by Farris Wilks. As of July 2020, neither Shapiro nor Boreing have ever met Dan Wilks or received any money from Wilks Brothers, LLC, which doesn’t stop the site’s detractors from braying about how the company is “bought and paid for by the evil fracking Wilks Brothers!” — “Wilks Brothers” sounding, we guess, like Koch Brothers and thus more nefarious to leftist media outlets. Or something.

Anyway, The Daily Wire launched from the offices of Jeremy’s last failed movie company, with the original episodes of The Ben Shapiro Show and The Andrew Klavan Show shot in his converted garage/pool house.

Today, those podcasts, along with The Michael Knowles Show, The Matt Walsh Show, and Daily Wire Backstage make up the core of The Daily Wire’s opinion offerings, with The Ben Shapiro Show being one of the largest podcasts in the country.

The company achieved its goal of becoming self-funding in month 14 and has powered its own growth from revenue since that time.
