Despite the stated altruistic objectives of "Stand Together," the abhorrent past history of influence and deception by the Koch brothers precautions one to firmly suspect that "Stand Together" is a sophisticated charade, masking sleazy, Machiavellian intentions!

The Federal Election Commission is once again lacking the four commissioners it needs to enforce campaign finance laws and close loopholes as Election Day nears.
Republican commissioner Caroline Hunter announced last week she will resign from the FEC to work for Stand Together, a philanthropic network bankrolled by Republican megadonor Charles Koch and other like-minded conservatives. Her departure will leave the FEC with three commissioners out of a possible six. The FEC needs four members to hold meetings to consider issues such as "dark money" and foreign interference.
Stand Together is a name of a network of non-profits funded by Charles Koch and other individuals previously known as The Seminar Network. It was reorganized and renamed in 2019. The founding CEO is Brian Hooks.
A previous constellation of organizations with a similar name had been created by Charles Koch to support community groups addressing poverty, addiction, recidivism, gang violence and homelessness. That effort continued under the Stand Together Foundation.
In a speech in January 2019 in Palm Springs, Charles Koch had signaled he would shift away from partisan politics and focus on goals that cut across ideologies. Stand Together is considered a manifestation of those stated intentions. Charles Koch is considered less political than his brother, David Koch.
